Avalanche Studios Group is hiring a Lead Tools Programmer for our central technology organisation in Stockholm. Central Technology is our core technology team and we innovate in areas that push the boundaries for what open world sandbox gaming means as well as improve, optimize and support our existing core technology. As a tools programmer you will work with multiple teams in developing the tools for our open-world engine Apex that is used by our production teams in Liverpool, Malmö, New York and Stockholm.
Your primary responsibility will be to build, maintain and support user-friendly, yet advanced tools to be used by a range of disciplines in multiple games in development. You will also work with our content pipeline to allow maximum efficiency for our content creators. The solutions you work on require careful consideration in how they impact many different projects and teams.
As a lead you will play an instrumental role in defining and driving our vision for the tools that our teams rely on. You support your team as a mentor and provide them with constructive feedback. Your input will be valuable on many matters and you interact with a large variety of people within the organization.

- Excellent programming skills in C/C++
- 5+ years of professional tools development
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering/computer science or equivalent experience
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Strong coordination and collaboration skills
- Passion for making great games
- Windows application development
- Qt development
- Experience of AAA game content pipelines and the Digital Content Creation tools involved
- Automated software testing (e.g. TDD)
- Familiarity with Python or similar language
- Understanding of best practices in UX and how to apply them to tools
